Cake Decorating Classes with Claude
Below is a set of classes designed to go beyond basic techniques already
being taught by Claude outside the Inn. In the planning stages are classes that
will demonstrate advanced and new techniques that
Claude is looking forward to introducing to you here at Saratoga Rose Inn.
A new Schedule will be made available in early February 2009.
Gum Paste: a sweet edible sugar dough usually made from sugar & glucose.
It hardens quickly, allowing it to keep its shape. Perfect for making flowers
and modeling.
Gum Paste - An Introduction
This 3.5 hour class is designed for those who have never worked with Gum Paste.
You will learn how to roll Gum Paste, to make daisies and to use Gum
Paste in push-in molds - the basics to get you started.

Class Fees:
Registration is $25.00 plus $55.00 tuition per student. Consumables & Tools
are included.

Gum Paste Flowers #1
Learn the fine art of making gum paste flowers and arrangements, creating full size Roses, Stephanotis, Calla Lilies & Leaves. This 2 day class (4 hours each day) will show you how to create these wonderful flowers, and how to use wires and floral tape to create arrangements. Claude will also cover how to hand paint flowers, to give them that true-to-life look.

Before you take this class you should know how to roll Gum Paste.
Registration is $25.00 plus $125.00 tuition per student. Book, consumables and tools included.

Gum Paste Flowers #2
Gum Paste Flowers #2 will cover Orchids & Lilies in a one day class (4 hours). Before you take this class you need to have taken Gum Paste Flowers #1.

Class Fees:
You will need to bring the tools from Gum Paste Flowers #1 to complete this class.
Registration is $25.00 plus $75.00 tuition per student, consumables included.

SugarVeil: An Introduction
Introducing a new medium - SugarVeil is an icing that remains flexible for a period of time, allowing you to shape it as you like. Unlike Fondant and Gum Paste you can create the illusion of fabric with this icing. When it sets it can be compared to a light royal icing, but not as hard. This
two day class (8 hours) will introduce you to SugarVeil and the basic techniques: how to mix it, comb it, and create wonderful decorations.

Class Fees:
Registration is $25.00 plus $250.00 tuition per student. The consumables &
tools included have a $55 retail value.
Space is limited to 6 students - minimum of 2 required for this class

If you would like to combine a class with a stay at the Inn, please view our packages, where you will find a special "Class & Stay" package. No discounts, promotions or coupons can be used for classes. Since class size is limited, make your reservation early to participate in the class of your choice. Class cancellation: The registration fee is non refundable. The tuition is refundable up to 72 hours before the class begins. There will be no refunds after the 72 hour deadline.
